(Batch code starts S)Aside from questions of ethics and sustainability, pure Sandalwood essential oil is hugely expensive. If I used it in my soap I'd have to quadruple the price of each bar! So instead I'm using a blend of essential oils from trees of the same genus - Santalum. Sandalwood commercial blend oil is an essential oil obtained from steam distillation of chips and billets cut from the heartwood of various species of these trees. A little cocoa powder and turmeric provides colour evocative of the woods from which the essential oils originated. The combination of five carefully-selected base oils - coconut, sweet almond, apricot kernel, olive and shea butter - together with all the naturally-occurring glycerin, make this a wonderfully gentle and moisturising soap with an unbelievably luxurious creamy lather. Suitable for hands, face and body. Vegetarian and Vegan. All my soaps are handmade and hand-cut, so each bar is unique. The weight stated is the minimum weight - most bars will weigh a bit more. A batch number is printed on each bar. Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. Allow to dry out between uses. Handmade soaps get better with age and if stored properly can last up to 3 years, although some fading of fragrance and colour is likely.
